Getting out of the rut, Day 2

17 10 2006

Something fictitious

The rain today didn’t allow us to do what I’d planned to, which was check out a new farmer’s market (new to us, that is) in Mount Vernon. So- Plan B: storytime at the Kingstowne library.

And I have to say, I didn’t enjoy it. I basically spent the whole half hour chasing Ethan around a non-baby-proofed room full of about 18 little ones and almost as many stuck-up moms, repeating “No, that’s not ours” over and over again as he tried to steal papers, books, sippy cups (right out of the other babies’ hands!), wallets (right out of the mothers’ purses!), anything he could get his hands on.

animal_book.jpgEthan, however, had a blast. And, having sensed my frustration, he was kind enough to wait until we got home to poop all over the place. He’s considerate that way.

I’d recommend storytime at your local library on rainy day… just make sure you’re well-rested and ready for the half-hour cardio class. Oh, yeah, and also make sure you sign-in at the front desk. Apparently they freak out if you just walk in. Unless you find amusement in librarian freak-outs. Then by all means, walk right in. And try to steal a book, while you’re at it. That really gets ’em going.
